Understanding time signatures is yet another important part of reading music. Regardless of your skill level or instrument time signatures are key to determining how the rhythm should be read. Although the time signature is simply two numbers at the beginning of a piece of music, it is one of the most important pieces of information you will need to decipher in order to play the music properly.

Once again todays post is dedicated to providing musical experiences for children. This time I would like to focus on Children’s percussion instruments. Now you may be thinking that I will provide another list of children’s musical toys but that is not the case this time around. This time I will be providing examples of actual percussion instruments that children of all ages can enjoy and gain musical experiences in the process.
It is no secret that I am a huge fan of providing musical experiences for children at a very young age. I truly believe this is the key to getting children interested in music as early as possible. There is no harm in allowing our children to explore all the wonderful sounds that the world has to offer them. Percussion instruments provides a variety of different sounds that your child can create and manipulate.
In todays post I would like to revisit why providing musical experiences can be helpful to children, the many things they learn when manipulating sound and finally a list of some simple percussion instruments that can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
I’m finally ready to share my pTrumpet review. In a previous post I introduced plastic brass instruments. More specifically I discuss the pTrumpet and pBone. At that time I had already tried the pBone but was patiently awaiting my chance to get my hands on a pTrumpet.

I am happy to say that my daughter is now the new owner of a green pTrumpet. While the sounds that currently come from its bell are not always that entertaining, I can say that we are extremely pleased with our newest addition to our musical instrument collection. It has an extraordinary sound and plays with ease. I have been a trumpet player for over 15 years so I can say that I have played a lot of bad instruments. The pTrumpet is certainly not one of them.
