Throughout this webpage I will often use terms that may be unfamiliar to a person with little musical knowledge. The purpose of this page is to give a simple explanation or definition for the terms I use, as well as, other terms that frequently appear in music. Music Terms and Definitions
Bass: Refers to the lowest voice in music. A bass voice is lowest voice in a choir and a bass instrument is often the lowest pitched instrument in an ensemble.
Beat: The pronounced rhythm of music. Musician to the beat in order to keep the music steady.
Clarinet: Musical instrument of the woodwind family that requires a reed.
Crescendo: Indicates that the music should gradually get louder.
Decrescendo: Indicates that the music should gradually get softer
Dynamics: Refers to how loud of how soft the music should be played
